Agnus Dei Choir was founded in 2002 at the Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish Church in Mississauga, Ontario.
The old Agnus Dei choir members can be seen here . The concept of the Cantabile Choir was first put together in the fall of 2012, and the choir today continues the legacy of Agnus Dei (all concerts from 2014 are solely Cantabile Choir projects).
Under the direction of Maria Lesniak, Agnus Dei Choir performed and specialized in religious music and enhanced Sunday masses and special holiday services. The choir has sung a broad variety of compositions, from very old masterpieces to very modern songs in the Polish, Latin, and English languages.
Agnus Dei’s first departure from performing religious songs was at their SPRING RHAPSODY Concert in June 2011. Also, the choir performed in a special concert in St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in April 2009 called “JESUS I TRUST IN YOU” POP ORATORIUM composed by Wojtek Bochenek.
Cantabile participates in major church festivities at St. Anthony of Padua church in Oakville and organizes independent concerts. In the last few years Cantabile Choir has continued its cooperation with composer Wojciech Bochenek, premiering the Lenten Oratorio and preparing for the Christmas Oratorio "Emmanuel".
